Cassie Kabwita to be Honored at The African Film Festival

Cassie Kabwita, the accomplished actor, director, and filmmaker from Zambia, is set to receive a prestigious honorary Ambassador’s award at The African Film Festival (TAFF) in Dallas, Texas, USA, this June. The award recognizes Kabwita’s dedication as a TAFF ambassador representing Zambia since 2017.

Known for her impeccable dress code, Kabwita is also expected to be a panelist at the Symposium on African Cinema during the festival. Currently, she is in Serengeti National Park, Tanzania, shooting an exclusive drama series for AZAM TV titled “MZANI WA MAHUSIANO.” Kabwita plays a lead role in the series, alongside other renowned Tanzanian actors.

The producers and directors of the series have granted Kabwita leave from the shoot to travel to the USA to receive the award in person. They believe that the additional award to Kabwita’s multiple accolades will add value to their new show and attract more viewership traffic once it airs. Ultimately, the true honor goes to Zambia for producing such a talented artist. Cassie Kabwita to be Honored at The African Film Festival
